A charitable search engine that donates 95% of its profits

SearchScene is a search engine that helps fight climate change and social issues

Using SearchScene to search the web is a unique (and very tech-wise) way to help fight climate change and alleviate suffering in people worldwide. Imagine if your individual impact was just one click away?

More and more people are turning away from traditional search engines like Google as they look to make small changes in their everyday lives which benefit the planet as a whole and allow them to give something back.

SearchScene launched in March 2020 and is a charitable search engine that donates 95% of the profits they make from advertising to charity, with a focus on supporting charities that help fight climate change and alleviate the suffering caused by climate change.

Using SearchScene allows you to fight climate change without spending any additional time or money. You simply do what you do anyway – search the web!

Which charities does SearchScene support?

Their current supported charities include Eden Reforestation Projects, WaterAid, Oxfam, UNICEF, WWF and UNHCR. This means you can support efforts to combat the effects of a wide range of climate-related issues, from deforestation to natural disasters to the availability of clean drinking water.

  • Eden Reforestation Projects

Eden Reforestation Projects work in countries across the world to plant trees and save lives. Deforestation is a major global problem that increases climate risks internationally, and reforestation efforts are a key strategy for mitigating the effects of climate change. Eden Projects aim to restore healthy forests and reduce extreme poverty in the areas most affected by deforestation by employing local people to plant millions of trees every year.

  • WWF

The Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF) is the world’s leading independent conservation organization that is determined to ensure that people and nature can thrive together. Their work in more than 100 countries includes investment in conservation initiatives to fight climate change, stop the degradation of the natural environment, and build a sustainable future. They currently operate in six areas: food, climate, freshwater, wildlife, forests, and oceans.

  • WaterAid

WaterAid is a charity aiming to bring clean water, decent toilets, and good hygiene to communities around the world. They currently partner with local organizations in 37 countries to enable those living in poverty to access clean water and toilets close to home and promote safe hygiene practices. In turn, this helps prevent water-borne diseases that can be deadly.

  • Oxfam

Oxfam is a global movement of millions of people working together to end poverty. They currently focus on beating hunger, providing clean water, promoting health and education, responding to emergencies, enabling women’s rights, tackling the impact of the coronavirus pandemic and fighting climate change.

  • UNICEF

The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is the world’s leading organization working to help children in danger. They work in more than 190 countries and territories to reach the most disadvantaged children and adolescents and protect the rights of every child. Their work includes providing nutrition and life-saving foods, promoting education, providing emergency relief for children, protecting from climate change, building safe water, sanitation, and hygiene systems, and the distribution of life-saving vaccines.

  • UNHCR

The UN Refugee Agency, UNHCR, is a global organization dedicated to saving lives and protecting the rights of refugees, forcibly displaced communities, and stateless people. They work in a number of areas and group their work broadly into the following categories: protection, shelter, advocacy, health, safeguarding individuals, and global needs assessment. They also work to mitigate the impact of climate change and environmental disasters.

You can choose the charities you want to support by clicking on the heart-shaped charity icon at the top-right of any page on SearchScene.com, selecting just one, several, or all of them if you prefer. Then, the donations will be divided up according to everyone’s chosen charities. Transparency is important, so SearchScene also publishes its donation receipts at the end of each quarter.

That’s why they are committing to providing a rich search experience, with sophisticated knowledge panels which offer a wealth of information to users at first glance.

They are constantly developing the search engine to make it as user-friendly as possible, with new features like a weather widget, translations, and instant answers being added all the time.
